Rescue Team in Thailand Hits Flood to Save Dozens of Stranded Residents

Rescue teams in northeastern Thailand navigated fast-flowing floods to rescue dozens of people stranded in their homes on Wednesday (29/9), as authorities tried to get more help for the victims.

At least seven people have died and two are missing as floods over the past week have affected nearly 200,000 households in 30 provinces in northern and northeastern Thailand. This is as reported by Channel News Asia, Thursday (30/9/2021).

Rescuers wearing orange helmets and life jackets traveled by boat through waterlogged streets in the northeastern province of Chaiyaphum to reach people trapped on the roofs of their homes.

Video posted on social media by private Hook 31 rescue team showed them wading cautiously against currents of floodwater as high as the windows of abandoned cars, some carrying children on their backs and escorting the elderly along a series of guide ropes.

High Flood
Authorities have issued a warning about rising water levels of the Chaophraya river which could bring flooding to the capital Bangkok and surrounding areas.

The government daftar togel online has assured the public that the situation is under control and that there will be no repeat of the devastating months-long floods in 2011, which killed hundreds of people, damaged vast swaths of agricultural land and crippled Bangkok and its industrial estates.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation said on Wednesday (29/9) that 197,795 households in 30 provinces, mostly in the north, northeast and central regions had been affected, a 56 percent increase from the 126,781 reported a day earlier.
